“Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter”. Izaak Walton
This website was ‘born’ in 2018 when as a single mother I decided to pull my son Cameron (then 6) out of school and travel around the world for a year. I really started the blog so that my parents back home in the U.K. could read about our travels and it grew organically from there.
Our first year circumnavigating the globe was so phenomenal that we decided to extend it to two years!…..so for another 8 months we continued to live the dream, until the covid pandemic spread around the world seeing us both stranded on a cruise ship for 4 weeks in the middle of the South Pacific and then forced to come home ( a condition of us leaving the ship in San Diego was that we went straight to the airport and returned to our home countries).
Within 7 months of returning home I rode a mammoth roller coaster of love and loss – I lost both of my parents during the pandemic, but also met the man of my dreams and got engaged.
As travel restrictions now lift and life gets back to some normality, we know we have a LOT more travelling to do, much more of the globe to see and many new friends yet to meet.
We continue to be truly excited by life and can’t wait to share more of our travel experiences with the wider world.
Thank you for sharing and supporting our journey.
